What to watch out for

Backshift: The verb shifts one tense back (play → played, will → would …).
Pronouns & companions: I → he/she, my → his/her, here → there, now → then.
that is optional: He said (that) he was tired.
Reporting verbs: feel free to also use told (sb), explained, added, replied instead of always just said.
